As we all know Facebook as the top ranking best social networking site around the globe. Facebook introduces it’s new messaging that comes with a username @facebook.com email address, though it wasn’t new. This Facebook email address allows your chat converstions to be stored in messages and even allows you to use IM smilies in messages. It also comes with lots of features you won’t find in the old messaging format. I can still remember the time i did mine last year December from then i started receiving messages from some of my friends which I’m able to reply their message when this blog was not existing yet so i still received a message of the same question yesterday in mobile site and i couldn’t reply the message so i came up with the option of posting it here and directing them here.

Inorder To get a @facebook.com email address, you must first have a profile username. Most people have this already but I’ll still explain it. To get a facebook username, go to http://facebook.com/username and set up a profile username.

Functions Of Facebook Username

1. This gives your profile a memorable short address i.e. http://facebook.com/Meerabai

2. It gives you the ability to login to your facebook account with your username like twitter instead of typing your email address everytime. Like me I always login to facebook by typing Okaztle in the space for email address. Even i was asked by one of my friends that how do i do that.

3. Finally, this also qualifies you of owning a custom facebook email address.

Now that your facebook username is already set up, the next step is requesting for the Facebook email invitation.

 

How To Get @Facebook.com Email Address

You can easily set this up in two different ways:

1. By someone who’s using this already sending you an invitation

2. By requesting the invitation yourself.

The second method is what I actually used. Just visit http://www.facebook.com/about/messages/ when the page opens click on the REQUEST AN INVITATION button.

Immediately After clicking it, the button will change to YOU WILL GET AN INVITATION SOON. You may need to wait for almost a month before getting invited, mine doesn’t use up to a month just a week, yours too may be in about a week or two. Just be patient and your requst will be confirmed, you’ll now get a cool yourname@facebook.com email address !
